திருப்பனங்காடு சிவன் கோவில் தொண்டை நாட்டின் ஒன்பதாவது சிவத் தலம் எனப் போற்றப்படும் தலம் திருப்பனங்காடு. பொதுவாக எல்லா மரங்களிலும் ஆண்–பெண் மரம் என்ற வேறுபாடு இல்லை. ஆனால் பனைமரம் மட்டும் ஆண் மரமும் பெண் மரமும் கொண்ட தனிச்சிறப்புடையது. இத்தலத்தின் தலவிருட்சம் பனைமரம் ஆகும். கோயில் பிரகாரத்தில் அமைந்துள்ள இரண்டு பனைமரங்கள், அன்னை–அப்பர் போல அருள் காட்சி தருவது இத்தலத்தின் அழகிய தனிச்சிறப்பாகும். இந்தத் திருத்தலம் சோழ மன்னர்களால் முதலில் கட்டப்பட்டது. காலப்போக்கில், தேவகோட்டையைச் சேர்ந்த சிவப்புண்ணிய செல்வர் பெ. ரி. ஏகப்ப செட்டியார் அவர்கள் இக்கோயிலின் திருப்பணியை மேற்கொண்டார். ஒரு வழக்கில் பெற்ற முழுத் தொகையையும் இறைப்பணிக்கே அர்ப்பணிக்க உறுதி கொண்டவர் என்பதே அவரது உயரிய ஆன்மிகப் பெருமையை வெளிப்படுத்துகிறது. இக்கோயில் கருங்கற்களால் கட்டப்பட்ட கலைநயமிக்க அமைப்பாக விளங்குகிறது. இங்கே, சிவபெருமானையும் அம்பாளையும் ஒரே இடத்தில் நின்று தரிசிக்க முடியும் என்பது அரிய சிறப்பு. மேலும், ஏகப்ப செட்டியார் அவர்களின் திருஉருவச் சிலை, இறைவனை தரிசிக்கும் நிலையில் உள் மண்டபத்தில் அமைக்கப்பட்டு...

  PILLAYAR NONBU –  POIGNANT STORIES On 21 st day after Maha Deepam, Karthika day, the zodiac signs sashti and sathayam converge.   This is the holy day for all Nagarathar Community people.   More than Vinayagar Chathurthi in Aug, Sep, what Nagarathars celebrate without fail wherever they are in the world is what is famously known as Pillayar Nonbu. What is not known to many in current generation is the background, tradition of celebrating such exclusive festivals, ceremonies like Pillayar Nonbu.   Many of the aeons old tradition we come to hear of from our elders in the family.   If they miss to tell the story to the posterity,   chances are we may totally miss them.   Thank God, there were elders, who had taken pains to carry the legacy to later generations. Lord Kaleesa must have thought it an apt day to merge Mama, அத்தை’s spouse     - ANNA, Soma Navanna, as fondly all his beloved know him – in His heavenly abode.
