திருப்பாண்டிக் கொடுமுடி - Kodumudi

யாவர்க்குமாம் இறைவற்கு

ஒரு பச்சிலை;

யாவர்க்குமாம் பசுவுக்கு

ஒரு வாயுறை;

யாவர்க்குமாம் உண்ணும்போது

ஒரு கைப்பிடி;

யாவர்க்குமாம் பிறர்க்கு

இன்னுரை தானே.

In referring to the above Mantra,  Maha Swami points to the order how our seva,  service to be of - ஆக 

ஈச்வர ஸேவையில்லாமல்

மநுஷ்ய ஸேவை என்பதில்லை. 

In Eswar's Seva contributions by Zamindar Family - AL AR Family -of Devakottai are innumerable. Right from Rameswaram and up to North they had done massive Temple திருப்பணி, holy work of renovation, performance of Samrokshanams and establishing of choultries. 

One such Temple where they did திருப்பணி and Kumbabishekam was Kodumudi, the birth place of famous yester year Singer KB Sundarambal. 

Then the place was reverentially addressed as Thiruppandi Kodumudi. 

The Name of the Lord in the temple is  Kodumudi Nathar and His Consort is Panmozhi Nayaki.

AL AR Family's service was not only in Kodumudi Nathar temple but they did it in one more temple here by the name Veera Narayana Perumal Temple. 

In early 1900s along with other families in Chettinad, viz., S.A. Rsmaswamy Chettiar - சா. அ.,  K. V.  Chidambaram Chettiar - க. வெ.  and K. V. RM.  Venkatachalam Chettiar -  க. வெ. ராம.,  all belonging to Kanadukathan, Devakottai Zamindar AL. AR.  Arunachalam Iyyah did the திருப்பணி here in these two temples. The expenditure involved was INR 3,00,000/, not a small sum. 

The Kumbabishekam had happened on April 16, 1909. Tamil year சௌமிய,  சித்திரை 4ம் தேதி. 

Besides Veda Patasalas, Gosamrakshana, caring for cow and establishing cow sheds and maintaining the cows healthy is another Holy duty that Hindu sastras enjoin on Hindus.  

In adhering to this dharma,  Nagarathar Community established and has been maintaining number of Veda Patasalas and Cowsalas - பசு மடங்கள் across the Nation. 

In this Kodumudi kshetra,  another family from Devakottai by name T. S. PL. S.  - தி. சு. பழ. சு, in those days spent INR 12000 to establish a cowsala - கோசாலா here.
